BELIEFS -> THOUGHTS -> ACTIONS -> RESULTS

CONSCIOUS ACTIONS
Our thoughts control our actions. Our actions come directly from the thoughts that preceded the action. Before we act we need the thought that creates the motivation to act. And it is then that we act out what the thought prescribed.

It follows that if our thoughts give rise to our actions then our thoughts directly affect not only what we do but also how we do it.

Being aware of what thoughts we have can help us to understand ourselves and to explain many of the actions we undertake in our lives.

With a little training it is fairly easy to monitor our thought processes on a conscious level by tracing back from the action or actions and remembering what thoughts motivated that action.

UNCONSCIOUS ACTIONS
However, some of our actions are ‘automatic’ in the sense that we are often not consciously aware of why we did something or what thoughts led to the actions. These actions come from the subconscious and are usually associated with our instincts and also deep rooted learned responses to situations.

It is these unconscious actions driven by our subconscious mind that can sometimes be infuriating and some of the hardest to change.

Habits are actions that have become habituated i.e. automatically repeated and therefore can seem outside of our control.

When we are able to keep notice of what we are doing we may find that we cannot explain the reasons why we are doing them, especially when they are non-constructive and being repeated continuously.

There is a saying only a foolish man can continue to do the same things in the same way and expect different results.

In fact it is not the foolish man but the man that is pre-programmed to react in exactly the same way through his subconscious blueprint of the appropriate response in certain circumstances.

Take the time to change your thoughts and you will change also the way you react to things – often bringing about very different results in your life.

"Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny."
